Hi, everybody! I found this picture of us kids at Seth's wedding. Great shot.
My girls absolutely love the afghans Laura made for each of them for their 18th birthday. She is on a personal quest to crochet an afghan for each grandchild in our family. Well, almost. She made a levi quilt for Eric instead. This is a huge project to take on, with 26 grandkids so far.... but she's already made a dozen, wow! Mom started the tradition, and several of us older girls have a hand knit or crocheted afghan. Mine is a treasure to me. She knit mine, but was having problems with her hands -maybe arthritis?-and it took several years to finish.
So I hear that Seth is buying Laura and Dave's farm - cool! Dave, are you going to build a new house? Will you guys stick around? What are your plans? Time for a new baby.... :) Seth, that should give you a little more space... congratulations to all of you!
Don, how is your bike? With a winter like this, I wonder if you still go out and play in the snow!
Annette and Emily stopped by our house for a quilting lesson while she was here. How domestic can you get? What a fun time we had, and what fun fabrics she chose for her cute quilt. While Emily was quilting, Annette crocheted yet another cotton washcloth from start to finish in about an hour.
Renee' and I are heading to Puyallup, WA (near Seattle) at the end of February for their annual Sewing and Stitchery Expo. We'll take classes on pattern alterations, heirloom sewing, quilting, meet Nancy Ziemann (Sewing with Nancy) and other quilting and sewing TV personalities. Then we'll spend Sunday touring around Seattle before we fly home on March 2nd. Back in our county, Renee' has a greed to be one of several featured teachers for a local sewing conference teaching quick alterations on clothing, and another class on making prom dresses modest, complete with a fashion show by our daughters.
Sage, just wondering how you're getting along, poor little tonsil-less kid. Hope your recovery is quick!
My girls and I are headed North next weekend, with tickets to go to the open house at the Rexburg temple on the 21st at 12:00. It looks like there were plenty of tickets for that hour, and anyone is welcome to join us. Check online http://www.lds.org/ to reserve tickets. We're thinking of hitting a hot spring on the way home that day. We've had a busy few months finishing up their Personal Progress in time for their birthday, and they will receive their medallions next Sunday.
