Here is an update a week after Royle's surgery.
The operation went very well. They replaced the calcified aortic valve, and did a bypass on another pulmonary vessel last Thursday. Dad is still in Intensive Care at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, and recovering slowly. He has an incision about a foot long on his chest, and about 16 tubes and wires hooked up.
As of this afternoon, he is finally off the ventilator. The first thing he wanted to know is where was he, and how did he get there? Right now he is resting. He looks good, and the nurses, doctors and specialists are taking very good care of him. He may be hospitalized for a couple of weeks longer, and the doctors are being very cautious and careful.
You may email a note to him in care of Laura, and she will see that he gets it while he is there at the hospital. dandlkel@ida.net
It would have been Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary today - married August 21, 1958. Happy Anniversary, and all our love and prayers from your eleven children, spouses, and your 28 or so grandchildren. We love you.
